Growers 1927 Dry Premium Cider

Well it has been a while since I posted something on here.  So I decided to get going and write a review on a cider I first tried at Christmas.  At that time I had not decided to do a blog on ciders, but after encouragement from my friends, I decided to give blogging a go.  I found this drink at the LCBO a few weeks ago so I decided to give it another try....now here is my review.

The Specifics:

473ml Cans
5.8% Alcohol/Volume
Sugar Content 3
Price $2.95

When opening the can, the first hint was of pear.  With the pour I found that it wasn't as carbonated as some ciders are.  I chose to drink this cider chilled but not over ice.  The colouring of the cider is pale straw.

With my first sip, my first thought was this tasted like Growers Granny Smith Cider which I truly enjoyed.  But as I continued to enjoy this drink, I picked up other flavours... mainly pear and I wasn't too sure if there was melon in the flavour.  I could pick up the citrus note.  The more you sip the more different flavours become apparent on your pallet.

Now the history.....as mentioned this dry cider is produced by Growers.  As in the name, this company was started in 1927 in Saanich, BC.  Hence the name.....for further information on this product, the history etc you can visit their website at www.growerscider.com

Over all, I enjoyed this cider, but not as much as their Granny Smith Cider. My personal opinion is that this is a cider I would drink in the fall/winter months as I found it not as refreshing as others.  I will still give it a try in the summer.  When I do I will give you my verdict.  Until then I hope you do give it a try...

Rating: 8.9 out of 10
